The paths, in the order they are being built
Only a path whose answers can be checked without an opinion is worth grading. That rule sets the order.
The career paths are in beta. Everything on them was written for Hone and has not yet been checked by somebody who does that job for a living; each card says who. Practice material, not professional advice. What that means.

Open nowSoftware engineerThe job did not disappear; it moved up the stack. Less typing out the code, more reading what a machine wrote, catching what it got wrong, and being able to say why. That is the part still being hired for, and it is the part nobody can hand you a certificate for, so this one grades it by running your work against real tests, on the server, with the answer never in your browser. Ten tracks underneath it: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, regular expressions, HTML and CSS, Git, the terminal, industrial control and network switches. A readiness meterHow close you are to the interview bar on your track: topics held strong under spaced recall, problems solved without a hint, and your measured level. It can go down, because a number that only rises is a trophy, not a measurement.
The checklistSeven or eight counted steps between practising and applying. None can be ticked by hand; each is read from the same ledger as everything else.
Résumé linesSentences you can paste into a résumé, a LinkedIn summary or a cover letter. Every line says how it was measured, and below the bar for a line, the line does not exist.
A certificate and a proof pageMeet the bar on a track and Hone issues a certificate with a credential id anybody can check, signed so it cannot be edited. Your proof page is the working behind it, public only while you leave it on.
Hone is not an accredited body, does not proctor exams and does not check government identification. Everything here attests to counted work done on one account, and says exactly that.
