Delete your account
For honecoding, honejobs and Hone Week, which share one account
Deleting your account removes it from all three sites at once, and from the Hone apps on Google Play and the App Store, which are the same sites. It cannot be undone.
In the app
Open Account (tap your name at the top of honecoding, or of any career path on honejobs) and choose Delete my account at the bottom. Anywhere else, Hone Week included, this page does the same thing.
Here, on the web
Checking whether you are signed in on this device.
You are signed in on this device.
Type delete below and press the button. Your account and what is kept for it are deleted on all three sites, apart from the few things listed below.
Sign in first, so we know the account is yours. Enter the address on the account and we email you a link and a six-digit code. Open the link on this device, or type the code here, and you are back on this page, signed in.
Joined with Google? Enter that same address: the link opens the same account.
Your account is deleted on all three Hone sites, and this site has forgotten it on this device.
If you cannot sign in
Write to hello@honecoding.com from the address on the account and say you want it deleted. We check that the address is the account's, delete it, and write back when it is done.
If you never gave us an email address, the account belongs to the device that made it, and that device is the only proof it is yours: open Account there and choose Delete my account, or open this page on that device.
What is deleted
Your practice record and answers, streak, levels, badges and certificates; your name, email address and username (which becomes free for somebody else); your friends, requests and cheers, including on your friends' own lists; your calendar and its tasks; every version of code you ran; notification addresses, reminders and the weekly note; and any sign-in links still waiting. What this site keeps in this browser goes too. Another Hone site you opened in this browser signs out the next time you open it; tasks the planner kept in a browser stay in that browser only, never with us.
What stays is a note that the account's internal number was used, so it is never given to anybody else; the note says nothing about you. Tasks you added to someone else's shared list stay there for the others, without your name. Some safety records about shared lists can stay: reports other people made, and the moderation log, which records reports, blocks and the actions we took by ids and reason codes. Copies of the database kept only to recover from a failure can still hold your account for up to 30 days before they are replaced; they are never used to bring a deleted account back. The privacy page has the rest.
